Welcome To Your Virtual Gathering

Welcome to the 2021 Tribal Lands and Environment Forum: A Virtual Gathering!

The pandemic has been a time of much personal loss, challenges, and trials for us all. But it has also been a time of resilience, strength, and even new growth. We saw the number of attendees at the 2020 TLEF double from our past in-person events. We’ve been inspired by the example of our elders and the vibrancy and passion of our young people. We’ve overcome numerous obstacles and have worked hard to create new possibilities for all our relations. We’ve learned new tools to give more people voices, and have created new opportunities to share, listen, and learn from one another.

We welcome you to this year’s virtual TLEF. We look forward to hearing your stories, to learn from your challenges and successes, and to create a future that honors all our relations, together.

Celebrating the Culture and Traditions of Indigenous People Across the Country

As part of this year’s TLEF we are honored to share short videos provided by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake, Makah Tribe, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, and a very special one from a Hawaiian Indigenous group. You can read descriptions of their videos by clicking here.

Join us on Monday, August 16 at 11am PDT to watch the full Cultural Event video. Our friends at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe also provided an extra video about their Jingle Dance Tradition, which you can watch below.

Thank you to everyone who shared their culture and traditions at this year’s TLEF!
